Term 6- Week 3
Week 3
What an exciting week in Year 2!
In English we have continued our new book ‘Superworm’! We wrote a persuasive piece of writing to Wizard Lizard to convince him to let Superworm go. We thought of brilliant arguments and use persuasive language.
We have continued our new project of ‘How do animals survive?’ by investigating how our local habitats compare to habitats around the world. We compared our woodland habitat to the Savannah habitat in Africa. We explored the differences in climate, plants and animals.
In maths we have been doing position and direction. We have looked at left and right, different directions and turns.
We had such an exciting day on Thursday. We had Anna from Zoo Lab come in with some amazing animals for us to learn about and hold. She brought minibeasts including an African land snail, a Chilean Rose tarantula, a giant hissing cockroach and an African millipede. She also brought a tree frog and a royal python to compare and talk about why these animals are not classed as minibeasts.
