Term 6- Week 5
Week 5
What a fantastic week in the sun!
In English we have continued our book ‘Superworm’! We innovated the story by changing the characters, the problem and the resolution. We planned it and then wrote it up using amazing adjectives and story language. Everyone was very impressed with our high quality writing.
In maths we explored temperature this week. We measured the temperature inside, outside and some water. We had the idea of cooling it down with an ice pack and watched the thermometer go down.
As Scientists we looked at food chains in our local habitats and why they are important. We then started looking at endangered habitats which we will continue this week. We looked at the ocean, savannah, rainforest and polar habitats and discussed why they are endangered. For example we learnt about deforestation, climate change and overfishing.
We had such an amazing day at sports day and are very grateful that we could have spectators there. We were very lucky with the weather and we all tried very hard to score as many house points as we could. Well done everyone!
