Term One-Week 6
In year Two we are enjoying all aspects of learning, which is brilliant. We’ve had another jam packed week and we have enjoyed meeting with you all to talk about your wonderful children during Parents Evening.
This week, we started our new writing enquiry-learning how to write reports (non-chronological). We are writing our reports on Weston super Mare and we had the RNLI in to talk to us about water safety in Weston, this will be a part of our report. This week, we have been planning our report, ready to write, edit and improve next week.
As mathematicians we have continuing our times table knowledge of counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. This will help us in term 2 when we start to look at adding two digit numbers.
As geographers, we have been identifying different regions of the UK. We are becoming experts at talking about the UK and where we live in the UK.
As scientist, we have been learning how to measure solids. We have used rulers and weighing scales to measure these. We were true scientists and took our role very seriously.
As artists, we have been exploring pattern. We first took pictures of patterns in the classroom and outside. We then recreated these patterns using lines.
As computer experts we have been thinking about the rules we need when using IT equipment.
As citizens, we have been thinking about our rights and responsibilities in school and how rewards and consequences link to these. We mind mapped our ideas onto puzzles pieces to see how they all linked.
