Term 2- Week 3
In phonics this week Year 1 have been learning new sounds: oy (boy) ir (girl) ue (glue) ue (cue) and EYFS have been learning j, v, w, x.
As Geographers this week we have focused on Wales. We have found out that Cardiff is the capital of Wales and learned about some interesting landmarks in Wales.
In Maths, Year 1 have been investigating different 3D shapes – we have talked about how they are similar / different to each other. We have also started to learn the names of these shapes. We enjoyed a shape hunt and have been doing different sorting activity.
In English we have been creating our own story S to retell the Stickman story. We used story language (once upon a time, next, luckily, suddenly, finally) to retell our story to a friend. We are excited to write the story next week.
EYFS loved doing some mark making this week to support our fine motor skills.
We very much enjoyed the short spurts of sunshine that we had this week and managed to have fun on the bikes on Wednesday.
We also had another lovely session of shared reading with Year 3/4.
Today we loved supporting Children in need by wearing spots and doing lots of lovely Pudsey activities.
