Week 1 & 2

What a lovely two weeks settling into school. Year 1 are enjoying the new challenges and EYFS have been fantastic whilst learning the routines of school. We have had lots of fun exploring our resources and learning new things. We are looking forward to next week when they will be in fulltime.
We have loved spending time in the September sunshine and we are hoping that it stays so that we can spend as much time in our outside area as possible.

We have been recapping the sounds we learnt last year in phonics, as well as adding suffixes and making words plural by adding s/es.
As Mathematians we have been recapping numbers to 20 and exploring 2D and 3D shapes.
As Geographers, Year 1 went for a walk around Uphill Village. We enjoyed seeing what landmarks we could find and discussing whether what we saw were human or physical features of Geography.
