Week two

What a lovely week in EYFS/Year 1!

In English we have been practising formation of Upper case and lower case letters. We have also recapped plurals and adding the suffix -ing. To finish the week we have written a recount of our village walk.

This week in phonics we have been learning to add the suffix ‘ing’ on to the end of words e.g. jumping, splashing. We have been writing sentences to include them.

In Maths we have been recapping our knowledge of sharing equally between 2, partitioning 5, 6, 7 and 10 in different ways,

On Thursday we enjoyed a lovely walk around Uphill in the sunshine as geographers. We looked out for special features that we have in Uphill and spotted so many things! We saw the shop, the church, the hill a post box, the hospital and we walked past the boatyard. We also saw ducks in the river. We loved doing our fieldwork and exploring our local area.
