Week 2
What a lovely week! Our new EYFS children have settled in so well and enjoyed having lunch at school this week! We have had a lovely time exploring the classroom and our outside area.
As mathematians we have been making different numbers to 10 in different ways. We have been using different resources to show different ways of making each number.
As scientists we recapped what it means to be a scientist and what skills we will use. We introduced our new enquiry “What are the properties of everyday materials?”. We discussed our prior knowledge of materials and then looked at sorting items into different groups according to their material.
As writers this week, Year 1 have been reading ‘In every house, on every street’. We discussed what was the same and what was different about the houses and families in the story. We then did some writing about our own families and homes.
