Term 1- Week 6
Week 6
What a lovely week we have had in EYFS/Year 1! EYFS went to their first OWLH’s assembly and enjoyed finding out who was awarded work of the week.
As Mathematicians this week, Year 1 were ordering numbers from greatest to smallest and smallest to greatest using the symbols they learned last week. Then we moved on to plotting numbers on the number line and finding one more/one less on a number line.

As writers, we have been reading ‘The Three Little Pigs’ this week! We have had lots of discussion around the story and created ‘wanted’ posters to help find The Big Bad Wolf! We are looking forward to retelling the story next week. EYFS have been using stick puppets to retell the story this week.

We were Scientists and Designers this week! We explored and discussed what would be the most suitable material to build a house with to protect the pigs from the wolf. We then designed, built and evaluated our houses.

EYFS have learned new sounds ‘ck, e, u, r” and have enjoyed forming them in different ways and using them in words.

This week was ‘World Mental Health Day’ so we explored what that means with a circle time and then enjoyed some activities and mindfulness colouring.
