Week 7

What a lovely week we have had in EYFS/Year 1. This week we celebrated harvest festival and enjoyed having Reverend Madeley come in to talk to us about food and where it comes from. Thank you all for your generous donations to the food bank!

As Mathematicians this week, Year 1 were introduced to ‘part whole’ models. We used different resources to find the parts and then presented them on a part whole model. We then represented the part whole models in number sentences.

As writers, we have been retelling the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ this week! We started by creating a story s as a whole class before drawing our own to help us verbally retell the story. Year 1 then impressed us with some amazing writing, retelling the story with some fantastic description and story language.

EYFS have learned new GPCs ‘h, b, f” and have enjoyed activities to practise identifying and forming these letters.
