Term 2- Week 1

Week one

What a lovely first week back! We have had a busy week settling back in and enjoying Halloween and Bonfire night activities. We have been on an Autumn walk to identify any changes in the seasons and today we are finding out why we celebrate the 5th November.

In Phonics we have been learning new sounds: h, b, f, ff and new common exception word ‘no’. Year 1 have been learning about contractions and practising putting them in to words.

We enjoyed our first shared reading session this week with the Year 3/4s. We loved reading to each other.

As scientists, we recapped what we know about our senses and then went for an Autumn senses walk to think about what we can see, hear, smell, feel and taste in Autumn. As writers we then wrote some descriptive sentences about what we saw using some fantastic adjectives.
