Week 2

What a lovely week we have had in EYFS/Year 1!

It was world kindness day this week which as a kindness school, we loved celebrating! We enjoyed different activities and had lots of discussions around the importance of kindness.

As writers this week we read a new book ‘The Robot and the Bluebird’. We discussed what we like and dislike about the book as well as any questions we have and what the story reminds us of.

EYFS have enjoyed reading the story ‘Owl Babies’ and retelling it. We have used some fantastic vocabulary! We also practised our cutting skills to sequence the story and then threaded some lovely owl masks.

As mathematicians, we were introduced to the subtraction sign and used our knowledge of part whole models to help us solve some subtraction problems. we were focusing on finding the ‘difference’ this week.

As Historians this week we look at how TVs have changed over time. We introduced the word ‘chronology’ and started a timeline that we are going to plot different pieces of technology on to over the term.

We enjoyed the Joe wicks wake and shake to celebrate children in need. We love seeing everybody is yellow and spotty clothes!
