Term 2- Week 3

Week 3

What a busy week!

In phonics we have been learning new phonemes (sounds). EYFS have learnt y, z, zz, qu and Year 1 have learnt sounds aw, wh, ph and ew.

In Maths this week Year 1 have been using part whole models to find different ways to make numbers and answering reasoning questions to help us explain how we know.

As writers this week we worked out from clues what our new book was (Stick Man). We then read it and discussed and record our likes and dislikes. We also wrote a character description of Stick man. We are getting ready to verbally retell the story and then write it next week.

As Geographers this week we have learnt about Wales as our country in the United Kingdom. We looked at the language, flag and landmarks.

This week was antibullying week so we wore odd socks on Monday and wrote positive things about each other on Thursday. It was also road safety week so we took part in an assembly from the PCSOs on Wednesday and then enjoyed some activities surrounding it in classes. To end the week we wore yellow and spots to raise money for Children in Need on Friday.
