Week 4

As Mathematicians, EYFS have been copying and creating repeating patterns.

Year 1 have been investigating 3D shape! The children enjoyed handling cubes, spheres, cones, and cylinders, talking about their properties and where we see them in the world around us. We played some fun games to sort and build with these shapes.

As writers we read the book ‘Stick Man’ by Julia Donaldson. The story sparked lots of discussion about likes, dislikes, questions and what the books reminds us of! We shared ideas about what might happen next and are excited to retell the story next week.

EYFS have enjoyed reading Stickman too. They used props to retell the story and wrote some words from the story.

As Scientists, we learned about the north and south poles and discovered how magnets attract and repel. The children loved experimenting with different objects and using the new scientific language.

We started practising the skill of weaving! Using strips of paper, we began learning how to move the it over and under.

As Historians, we explored how the internet has changed and the development of Wi-Fi. The children were amazed to learn how people used to communicate before the internet!
