Week 6

A lovely week of Nativities and Christmas fun!

This week the children were amazing in their performance. They sang, signed and acted their hearts out and had so much fun.

We have enjoyed doing lots of other wintery crafts to help our fine motor skills such as making paper chains, snowflakes and weaving baubles.

In maths, we have all been looking at measurement. The Year 1s have been measuring with blocks and then moved onto using centimetres whilst foundation and have been comparing objects using the language ‘shorter’ and ‘longer’.

In English this week Year 1 have been writing Acrostic poems about winter and EYFS have been labelling a Christmas wish list using sound mats to help them use their new sounds!

We were very lucky to have Year 8 pupils from Broadoak come in and read to us this week. We loved listening and spending time with them.
