We are Historians this term with our new enquiry “Which technology invention had the most significance’. This week we looked and learned about the first television and how it worked. We compared the similarities and differences of the first TVs t0 TVs that we have now and watched a video of the first TV transmission. We then discussed what ‘chronology’ means and then plotted these points on the timeline.
In English we read a new story ‘The Robot and the Bluebird’. The book sparked an exciting debate about whether living things or technology are more important. We discussed and then wrote about it in our books.
In Maths we have been focussing on comparing addition and subtraction this week. We have used more than, less than and equal symbols to compare number sentences. EYFS have been explaining how they know that a set of numbers are in the right order. We discussed the one ‘moreness’ when ordering numbers. They have also been exploring time with clocks.
In art this week, we have been learning about Kandinsky. We experimented with powder paint and then had a go and created some art based on his work.
In P.E this term we are enjoying doing dance. We are focusing on our social ‘cog’ through dance and we loved creating some shapes and sequences with a partner this week.
