Term 3- Week 4
Week 4
In phonics this week EYFS have been revisiting y, w, x and year 1 have revisited new sounds ey, oe, au.
We are Historians this term with our new enquiry “Which technology invention had the most significance’. This week we looked and learned about the first computer and first computer game. We compared a computer to what they were like then and now. We made our own pong games and had a great time playing with them.
In English we read a new story ‘Mrs Armitage on Wheels’. We loved this book and thinking about what we would add to our won bikes. We created a story S and used it to retell the story.
In Maths we have been focussing on comparing addition and subtraction this week. We have used part whole models with missing numbers to write addition and subtraction number sentences. EYFS have been doing ‘missing number’ activities. Using their subitizing skills they had to see how the number had changed and explain how they know.
In art , we have been learning about Kandinsky. This week we mixed our own powder paints to make different consistencies. We then use different tools to create some artwork.
This week we enjoyed our National annual birdwatch! We went on to the field with binoculars and pictures of commonly spotted birds to see if we could see any ourselves.
