     Week 5

EYFS enjoyed their walks around the village this week. We spotted lots of things in our local area.

They then discussed what they saw and created maps of Uphill. We thought about what the buildings would look like from a birds eye view and created symbols for different features of Uphill.

As writers this week, we have been retelling the story of Mrs Armitage on Wheels. We enjoyed creating a story S as a class and then using it to retell the story with actions. We then completed our own story S and retold the story independently before writing it in our books.

As geographers, we learned about the compass points. We then used this knowledge to follow a map of our outside area.

As musicians, we used tuned instruments to create our own melodies in groups. We learnt C D E!

As computer scientists, Year 1 used the laptops to practise some typing after learning about digital print.
