Term 3- Week 5

We are in February and the days are getting longer and lighter! We have enjoyed getting outside in the sun a bit more.

 As Historians this week we learned about the revolution of the telephone. We reminded ourselves of what chronology is before making a timeline. We also learnt about the first tablet and discussed and compared the uses of a tablet to other pieces of technology.

In English we started retelling our book ‘Mrs Armitage on Wheels’. We innovated the story thinking about what we would add to our own bikes. We had some excellent ideas such as rockets, bookshelves and microwaves! We used amazing story language, power of three and onomatopoeia in our stories.

In Maths we have been focussing on comparing addition and subtraction this week. We have used part whole models with missing numbers to write addition and subtraction number sentences.  EYFS have been doing ‘missing number’ activities. Using their subitizing skills they had to see how the number had changed and explain how they know.
