 Week 1

What a fantastic week! We haven’t managed to get outside much this week due to the weather but we did manage to explore the school grounds looking for any sings of spring. Then we  talked about how Spring was similar and different to other seasons.

This week in phonics we have been recapping sounds: ai, ee, igh, oa and Year 1 have been learning alternative pronunciations for a (acorn, father, was).

In Maths this week, EYFS explored the idea of numbers being made up of ‘5 and a bit’. Year 1 made 2 digit numbers with different resources and compared them with more/less than symbols.

In English we have been writing what we know and what we want to find out about our new enquiry. We are Scientists investigating “What are the properties of every day materials?”. We have been looking at the properties and sorting them into groups.

In computing we enjoyed using the BeeBots this week. We have been learning about how robots listen to instructions and commands.
