Week 2

This week was World Book Day! We enjoyed celebrating reading week through lots of activities.

We loved all your wonderful story hats- thank you for spending time making these at home. They are all amazing!

We had so much fun looking at each other’s fantastic world book day costumes!

Year 1 had fun creating their own monsters and using some fantastic adjectives to describe them.

EYFS have been exploring story telling using puppets, story spoons and story cards. We created our own stories after selecting a setting and a character.

As Mathematicians, Year 1 have been partitioning 2 digit numbers into tens and ones. We used the stem sentences ‘The whole is _______. One part is _____ and the other part is _____.’

As Geographers this week, we learned about the 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom and where they are on a map. We used our compass points to describe their position.

As Scientists, Year 1 learned about parts of the human body. We sang dome body part songs and then labelled our friend’s body outline!
