Week 3
This week was CLF’s big day of maths! We enjoyed working in teams to complete some problem solving and reasoning challenges.
As mathematicians for the rest of the week, Year 1 were comparing numbers to 50 and identifying one more and one less within 50.
EYFS have been making ‘7 sandwiches’. They were exploring different ways to make 7 with numicon using two pieces of 7 as the bread!
EYFS are finding out about people who help us this term. This week we learnt about the dentist, reading stories and exploring why they are so important.
As writers this week, Year 1 read a new book ‘We’re going on an egg hunt’ and explored what story innovation is. We discussed the story, thinking about what we liked, disliked, what questions we had and what the book reminded us of. Then we retold the story by creating our own story S.
As scientists, we learnt about the 5 senses and thought about what would happen if we didn’t have them. We discussed what our senses would experience at a birthday party.
As Geographers, we learnt about the features of the four countries in the UK. We drew some pictures to help us remember what was in each country.
As Athletes this week, we explored some gymnastics shapes at different levels using apparatus.
