Term 4- Week 5 & 6
We have had a lovely last 2 weeks of term.
In the last couple of weeks we have been looking closely at spring and Easter, thinking about and observing the changes that we are noticing. We had a lovely assemble from Reverend Madely to find our why Christians celebrate Easter. We have enjoyed lots of fun activities such as a spring scavenger hunt. We also enjoyed making our Easter cards with our new printing skills.
In English Year 1 have innovated and edited our own stories based on ‘We’re going on an egg hunt’. This week we used special paper to publish them in our best handwriting. EYFS wrote some sentences to retell the story as well.
In Maths Year 1 have been reinforcing which coins we have and which notes we use to pay. We have been using our knowledge of counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to count money totals.
We have all also been learning about what makes a number odd or even.
As Historians we have learnt about the first Ipad and thought about the many uses of Ipads and tablets. We then answered our overarching Enquiry question ‘What technology invention made the greatest difference. We justified what we thought by explaining why we think it’s the best.
We have also loved getting out in the sunshine and playing on our new equipment- hopefully the sun shine for our Easter bonnet parade!
