Term 5- Week 3
Week 3
As writers this week we have been writing letters of advice to Tad, the main character in our book. He is the last tadpole to become a frog and we were trying to persuade him that that’s ok!
As mathematicians, Year 1 have been finding halves and explaining how they found the answer. EYFS have been exploring number bonds to 5 and writing them in number sentences.
As scientists, we have been learning how we can group animals together according to their features and diet. We learned some new vocabulary and looked at each category of animal; fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Then we grouped them by diet and explored what herbivore, omnivore and carnivore meant.
As artists, we explored printing with different objects and created marks/prints using a variety of medium. We used paint to dip objects into, printing onto paper to show different shapes and textures.
EYFS have been doing some work around ‘The Ugly Five’. We did some writing to describe what the animals had and then wrote some number sentences with number bonds to 5, exploring what would happen if one of the animals had left.
In PE we learnt some gym shapes: pike, star, straddle, straight, tuck. We practised creating these, we then played mirror mirror with a friend.
