Term 5- Week 3
Week 3
What a lovely week in EYFS/Year 1! We had a special delivery of some caterpillars to look after! We can’t wait to watch them grow into butterflies. We also had a visit from another animal friend on Friday- Flash the tortoise! She belongs to Mrs Curtis and we were lucky enough to learn all about her and stroke her shell!

Alongside our caterpillar delivery, we have been reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar! We did a great job of sequencing the story and have been enjoying some caterpillar themed activities.

Year 1 have been doing some research this week to support our report writing next week. We chose an animal and worked in teams to find information about them.

As mathematicians, Year 1 have been grouping and sharing into equal groups this week.

EYFS have enjoyed using the bikes this week to strengthen their muscles and practise their balance.

As Artists this term we are exploring printing. This week, we used paint and different materials to print with.

As Scientists, we have been grouping animals. We looked at how we could group them according to animal type (mammal, fish, reptile etc) and made a Venn diagram to show if any of these animal classifications have similar features. Then we grouped animals according to their diet and used new vocab ‘herbivore, carnivore, omnivore’.
