Term 6- Week 2
Week 2
What a fantastic week!
As Scientists, we started our topic of plants. This week were looking at the different parts of a plant. We used a real plant to identify it’s roots, stem, leaf, flower and fruit.

As writers this week, we created a whole class Story S and retold Jack and the Beanstalk with actions. We then drew our own Story S and EYFS enjoyed retelling it independently. Year 1 are excited to innovate it and write their own story next week.

As Mathematicians Year 1 have been identifying more and less to 100 and places two digit numbers on a number line. We then compared numbers to 100 using our more than, less than and equal to symbols.

As Historians, we are enjoying our new enquiry ‘How has life changed over time?’ We shared our family trees with the rest of the class and compared them to our friends to see what was similar and different.

EYFS have been manipulating salt dough this week into butterflies. They rolled, pressed and pinched to create their models.

As Artists this term we are looking at the artist Henri Matisse. This week we used collage to experiment with light and dark colours.
