Term 6- Week 2
Week two
What another lovely week in EYFS/Year 1!
This week, Rainbow Class went on their very exciting tip to Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm. They all had an amazing time and saw lots of animals. They took part in a ‘Creature features’ workshop which will help us with out enquiry this term ‘how do living things survive?’ We were blown away with the knowledge they shared.
As Scientists this week we looked at animal classification. We learnt about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores before sorting animals into those groups.
We also planted some beans in different conditions ready for them to start growing in time for us to start learning about plants. We then wrote a bean diary so we can keep track of the bean as it changes. We wrote about what we did and how we planted them.
We enjoyed a summer walk this week to record any signs of summer we could see.
In maths, Year 1 moved on from halves to start learning about finding a quarter of a number.
EYFS did some lovely observational drawing of summer flowers.
