Term 6- Week 6
Week 6
What a fun-filled and busy week we’ve had in EYFS and Year 1!
This week as mathematicians we explored the concept of time. We practised sequencing our daily routines, learned about the days of the week and months of the year. Then we looked at smaller amounts of time and what we can do in an hour, minute and a second.

We’ve also been busy combining our science and writing skills to describe the seasons. We used fantastic adjectives to describe what we might see, hear, and feel in each season. The children thought carefully about how trees change and what they look like.
After weeks of careful observation, we have completed our bean diaries! As scientists, we watched our beans grow roots, shoots, and leaves, and we recorded every stage with drawings and captions.

This week, we had our Moving Up Morning, where the children spent time in their new classrooms with their new teachers. There were lots of excited faces, and everyone came back full of enthusiasm and positivity.
As historians, we took a look at how buildings and life in Uphill has changed over time. We looked at photographs and maps from the past and compared them to what we see today and on our walk last week! The children asked fantastic questions and thought about why certain buildings or landmarks might have changed. We had some brilliant ideas about how transport, technology and jobs have changed too.
EYFS have LOVED being musicians this week in the sun!
