Week 3
Week 3
What a fantastic week we’ve had in EYFS and Year 1!
Our EYFS writers have been thinking all about summer. They’ve written about sunny days, ice creams, and trips to the beach. In Year 1, we’ve been busy writing our own versions of Jack and the Beanstalk, adding exciting twists and new characters. We’ve seen dragons, electric monkeys and magical unicorns who own singing stars and magic gems!

As mathematicians, Year 1 have started learning about money. We’ve been exploring coins and comparing different amounts.

As scientists, Year 1 have continued their learning about plants. We discovered the different parts of a plant and their functions. We also talked about how important seeds are.
EYFS enjoyed a summer walk around the school grounds this week and collected materials to create a summer wreath.

This week was National Sports Week, and we’ve been getting extra active! We joined the whole school for a fun Wake and Shake session to collect bottles for the fete- thank you for your donations.
As historians, Year 1 have been exploring family trees. We compared our own family trees with our friends’ and talked about how families can be similar and different. It was lovely to learn more about each other.
