Term 1- Week 5
Week 5
What a wonderful week in EYFS/Year 1! This week we saw the arrival of the month of October. We had lots of fun with pumpkins, including observational drawings and pumpkin models!
This week as writers we enjoyed retelling the story of The Three Little Pigs. We used actions to help us remember the whole story and then drew our own Story S. We enjoyed using puppets to retell the story to our friends. Next week, Year 1s will be writing the story, using lots of story language.
As Mathematicians Year 1s were introduced to more/less than and equal to symbols.
< > =
They compared different amounts with the symbols using different resources.
EYFS were making repeating patterns.
This week we did an experiment to show the importance of hand washing! The pepper represented the germs that can stick to our hands if we don’t wash our hands properly with soap.
This week in PE we went on a bike adventure! We put on our ‘helmets’, got on our ‘bikes’ and practised side stepping in different directions.
EYFS have been enjoyed lots of fine motor skills this week to help our hand strength.
As artists this week we enjoyed making different lines and marks with different medias.
