Dear Parent/ Carer,
As a member of the Dance Angels extra-curricular club, we are delighted to offer your child the opportunity to take part in the CLF Big Dance event on Wednesday 17th July 2024.
This is an exciting opportunity for the children to represent Uphill Village Academy and perform the dance routine they have been learning. There will be time built in for a rehearsal, as well as an opportunity to watch the CLF Post 16 Dance group perform, some of whom are World Champions in Hip Hop dance.
The event will take place at the City Academy in Bristol and the children will be travelling by train. The timings for the day are listed below:
9.30am – Children will travel by taxi to WSM train station
9:40am – Arrive at WSM train station ready to catch the train
10.49am – Arrive at Lawrence Hill station & walk to City Academy
11.30-11.50 – housekeeping, warm-up & stretching
11.50-12.50 – rehearsals & lunch
12.50-1.10 – P16 Dance performance
1.10-2.40 – BIG Dance show
2.45pm – walk to Lawrence Hill station
3.18pm – train to WSM
4.00pm – Arrive at WSM train station
Children will need to be dropped to school at 8.45am as usual and collected from WSM train station at 4.00pm. If you have any issues with collecting your child from the station please speak to us as soon as possible, so that we can support with this. We will keep you informed of any changes to the pick-up time by text message on the day.
Children should wear their P.E. Kit to school on this day, including sports trainers, and will need to bring:
- A packed lunch and a healthy snack
- Plenty to drink(in a re-fillable plastic bottle)
- A coat
Please give permission for your child to attend this event on ParentPay by 10am on Friday 7th June. If your child is eligible for free school meals and you would like us to provide them with a packed lunch (ham/cheese sandwich, cake, piece of fruit and water) please confirm this when you give permission and indicate if they would like a ham or cheese sandwich.
Packed lunches must be ordered by 10am on Monday 15th July.
