Christmas Celebrations Letter 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

With so much happening over the next two weeks running up to Christmas, we thought it would help if we shared information about the events happening across the academy.

Christmas Bazaar

Our Christmas Bazaar will take place tomorrow, Friday 1st December. Gates will open at 3:00pm, where tea and coffee will be available to purchase and parents can browse the Christmas stalls.

Our KS2 children will officially open the Bazaar by singing a few carols to parents at 3:00pm. Children will return to their classes after singing and parents should collect children from outside their child’s class at the usual time of 3.15pm.

There is an array of activities, including craft and game stalls, songs from our choir and a raffle. Full details of the what’s on offer can be found using the link: PTFA Christmas Bazaar Flyer

PTFA Secret Santa

This year children have the opportunity to take part in Secret Santa, allowing children to select gifts for a family member. This year the children will choose what they think you would like and wrap it for you, ready for Christmas Day! One gift is free for every child to choose, but additional gifts can be ‘brought’ for an additional £2. For full details, including how to book additional gifts, can be found using the link: PTFA Secret Santa

EYFS/Year 1 Christmas Performance

Rehearsals are in full swing for our production of ‘Donkey for Sale’ and the children are working hard, learning lines and songs, to make this a great performance.  There will be two performances:

Tuesday 5th December at 9.15am

Wednesday 6th December at 9.15am

There is a limit to the number of visitors we can fit safely into the hall, therefore, we are only able to offer 2 tickets per child for either performance. Only adults who have pre-booked to attend each performance will be admitted.  Booking has now closed so if you require tickets, please speak to the school office team on 01934 626769.

Full details can be found at: EYFS/Yr 1 Nativity Letter

Year 2 Christmas Service

The Year 2 Christmas Service will be held at St Nicholas Church on Thursday 7th December at 2pm.  Audience numbers will be limited to 2 adults per child but tickets are not required. After the service, the children will walk back to school and can be collected from the front playground at the usual time of 3.15pm. Unfortunately, children cannot be released to parents at the church. Full details can be found at: Year 2 Christmas Service Letter

Save the Children – Christmas Jumper Day

On Friday 8th December we will be supporting ‘Save the Children’ by ‘swapping’ your child’s school jumper/cardigan for a Christmas jumper.  Normal school uniform should be worn, with the exception only of the jumper.

It is not necessary to buy a Christmas jumper for this event, a brightly coloured one will do. Our PTFA will be selling pre-loved Christmas jumpers on Friday 1st December at the Christmas Bazaar.

If you wish to donate to this worthy cause, on this occasion we will be accepting cash. A £1 donation is requested.

Christmas Parties

Christmas parties will be held during the afternoons in the last week of term (see timetable below).  Many thanks to the PTFA who are providing the party food and drink.

EYFS & KS1 (Yrs 1 & 2) children can come to school dressed in their party clothes. KS2 children (Yrs 3, 4, 5 & 6) should arrive at school in school uniform and should bring party clothes in a bag to change into. Please remember, NO long dresses, fancy dress, pyjamas or onesies please.  Sensible shoes must still be worn; no slip-on shoes or open-toe sandals.

EYFS/Yr1        –           Monday 11th December (party clothes all day)

Year 2              –           Tuesday 12th December (party clothes all day)

Year 3/4           –           Thursday 14th December (arrive in uniform & change)

Year 5/6           –           Friday 15th December (arrive in uniform & change)

Christmas Lunch

Christmas Lunch will take place on Wednesday 13th December and the Christmas menu is attached with this letter.  We are pleased to confirm that once again the Christmas lunch will be offered free of charge for all children throughout the school.

Parents of children in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 that wish their child to have a Christmas lunch must book via ParentPay (www.parentpay.co.uk ). This will show as a charge but will be credited before the end of term.  Bookings will need to be made on ParentPay by Wednesday 6th December at the latest.  After this date no further bookings can be made and your child will need to bring in a packed lunch on 13th.

All children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 qualify for Universal Infant Free School Meals, therefore we will automatically book every child in these year groups for a Christmas lunch.  If your child does NOT want this meal, please email the school office [email protected] with your child’s name and class by Wednesday 6th December to opt out.

Children not having the Christmas lunch must bring a packed lunch on this day, there will be no alternative options available.

If you have any questions regarding any of our events, please do not hesitate to contact the school office on [email protected]
