COVID-19 Update and Reminder

Dear Parents and Carers

I wanted to write to thank you for your continued support in following our Covid-19 safety measures.  As of yet we have not had a positive case within school however, the latest government data shows that cases in the Uphill ward continue to rise and remain well above the national average rate per 100K population.

Further information can be found at  https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/interactive-map

I am sure you are all aware that the current National Lockdown ends this week and, on Wednesday 3 December, North Somerset will move into Tier 3: Very High Alert.  This is for areas with a very high or rapidly rising level of infections.

As we approach the last few weeks of term, it remains important that we are all extra vigilant to ensure our community and families stay safe.  By following the Government’s rules on meeting others safely, we can help to reduce the spread of the virus and limit our chances of needing to self-isolate over the holiday period.

We are continuing to follow our COVID-19 precautions in school, encouraging children to wash their hands regularly and stay 2 metres apart from other classes.  To help minimise contact with people outside your household, can I remind you to adhere to your child(ren)’s pick up and drop off times and refrain from congregating and mixing outside the school gates.  Only ONE parent/adult should accompany children to/from school.

Remember, if anyone in your household is showing any signs of symptoms, please do not send your child(ren) into school and contact the school office.  Anyone with symptoms can, and should, get tested as soon as possible and the whole household must self-isolate.

I am sure you will agree, it is really important we all work together to ensure we are able to enjoy a happy and healthy Christmas.

Yours Sincerely

Samantha Hodder

Principal
