EYFS Update & Feedback

Dear EYFS Parents & Carers,

We have been so impressed with how well your children have settled into the routines of school.

As we move into term 2, it is important that your child begins to learn the skills of independence. With this in mind, we respectfully ask that from Monday 6th November parents leave their child at the gate each morning and they make their own way to class. Staff are always on hand to assist the children and we know this helps greatly with each child’s development. If you have any concerns with this, please speak to your child’s class teacher.

We would also really appreciate your help with encouraging your child to undress and dress themselves at home, getting them use to doing up buttons, zips etc. Children need to be able to independently put on and fasten their coat for outdoor play and to get changed for PE lessons.

Fruit and milk are provided daily for morning break, please do not pack other snack items for your child to eat during this time. Every child is encouraged to try a range of fruits and vegetables at this time.

Once your child is five years of age they no longer qualify for free milk under the government milk scheme, parents are welcome to continue to provide their child with milk by contacting School Milk Services using the QR code contained in the letter attached. However, we do not allow children to bring in their own alternative drinks other than water in their named water bottle. If your child is under 5 and requires a dairy free option due to a medical condition/allergy, please contact the school office team on 01934 626769 or email [email protected]

We would really welcome your feedback on how you well you feel your child’s transition has gone and how well they have settled into school during the first term. We would appreciate it if you could take the time to complete a short survey using the following link: https://forms.office.com/e/hqNqfAbNX5

We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with both our children and their families and hopefully we will see you at the EYFS Phonics Event on Wednesday 8th November at 8:55am.

With kind regards

EYFS/Year 1 Team
