Flu Immunisation Programme Update 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

From September 2021, the School Nursing Team will be using e-consent for the school age influenza immunisation programme. E-consent will enable the immunisation process to be more straight-forward for schools, parent/carers, pupils and the School Nursing Team.

At the bottom of this letter is a link to the letter from the School Nursing Team containing information about the flu immunisation programme and a link to the e-consent form.  This will allow parents to submit or withdraw consent via a user-friendly web-based system. Once submitted, parents will receive an email to confirm the consent form has been received.

We would strongly recommend that parents’ give their consent for their child to receive the influenza vaccination to help keep the virus low in the community.  The dates for when the immunisations will take place in school will be sent shortly. In the meantime, we advise parents that wish their child to have the immunization to return their consent before the Christmas holidays to ensure you do not miss any deadlines.

Following the vaccination process, parents will receive an email confirming their child has received their vaccination, which will also include information about any side-effects.

For parents who are unable to access the web-based system, school nursing will still provide paper versions of the consent as before.

With regards

Uphill Village Academy
