Flu Immunisation Programme Update 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

From September 2021, the School Nursing Team will be using e-consent for the school age influenza immunisation programme. E-consent will enable the immunisation process to be more straight-forward for schools, parent/carers, pupils and the School Nursing Team.

Shortly, we will receive an e-consent link that we will send to parents via email, which will allow parents to submit or withdraw consent via a user-friendly web-based system. Once submitted, parents will receive an email to confirm the consent form has been received.

Following the vaccination process, parents will receive an email confirming their child has received their vaccination, which will also include information about any side-effects.

For parents who are unable to access the web-based system, school nursing will still provide paper versions of the consent as before.

We would strongly recommend that parents’ give their consent for their child to receive the influenza vaccination to help keep the virus low in the community. The dates for when the immunisations will take place in school will be sent to parents with the e-link.
