Foodbank Assistance Letter
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the half-term break, we know that the rising cost of food can place extra pressure on families. Please remember that support is available, and we encourage anyone who may be finding things difficult to reach out.
If you feel that your family would benefit from food support please speak to our Pastoral Lead Lucy de Scossa, either in person or by emailing learningmentor@uva.clf.uk All conversations will be treated sensitively and confidentially. Following a discussion about your circumstances, we may be able to arrange an e-voucher for the local food bank to help support your family.
We understand that providing meals during school holidays can sometimes be an additional financial strain, particularly for families who rely on free school meals during term time. Please do not hesitate to access this support if it would help ease some of the worries and pressures you may be facing.
In addition, there is a Community Fridge – Fridge of free stuff available locally, which can be accessed by all members of the community and provides another valuable source of food support. Please visit the website for details on times and location. www.fridgeoffreestuff.co.uk
Our school community is here to help, and we encourage families to reach out if they need support. No family should feel they have to manage these challenges alone. With the colder weather coming please reach out if you would like a winter coat or school cardigans/jumpers. We have a few new (with labels on) coats from Fat Face that need a home.
Kind regards,
Mrs Lucy de Scosssa
