KS2 Music Tuition for September 2026
FAO Parents of children currently in Years 2, 3, 4 & 5
Music tuition is provided by North Somerset Music Services for children in Key Stage Two (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6). From September 2026 your child will be in one of these year groups.
We are pleased to be able to offer face to face music tuition in 30-minute lessons. For the Autumn terms there will be 10 lessons given weekly during the months of September – December. Subject to availability, these will be offered as individual lessons or in groups of two.
Each lesson is 30 minutes, with 10 lessons given weekly in Term 1 and 2. Please be aware that these figures are the current prices. Following the annual review by the West of England Music Service (WEMA), there will be an increase in the charge per lesson next academic year; however, we have not yet received confirmation of the revised rates.
- An individual lesson (one-to-one) costs £23.50 per pupil, per lesson. The total cost for the 10 weeks will be £235.
- A group lesson of 2 pupils, costs £11.75 per pupil, per lesson. The total cost for 10 weeks will be £117.50.
Children who qualify for pupil premium funding will receive a 30% discount on the cost of their lessons. If you are unsure if your child qualifies, please contact the school office for further assistance.
Group tuition can only be booked if enough children wish to learn the same instrument and there are the right number of children to create pairs; we will contact you directly if there is a problem with your choice of booking.
Priority will be given to those children who are already receiving music lessons. Please note, spaces are limited, and keyboard and guitar specifically have few spaces remaining. Places for these instruments will be allocated on first come, first served basis and we will email you to confirm your child’s booking before lessons begin in September.
Children require their own instrument to participate in music tuition. Some instruments can be hired from WEMA, please contact them directly on music@wema.org.uk

Unfortunately, to allow sufficient time to work out the timetabling, forms cannot be accepted after this date.
We do not require payment at this stage. An email will be sent to confirm your child’s music tuition booking and payment details. Please be aware once booked, music lessons cannot be cancelled, and full payment will need to be made.
