MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) Launch

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are very excited to launch our new parent portal called MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) which is available online and via an app.  MCAS will provide you with access to key information about your child and will be used for all parent payments and club bookings from the end of this academic year.

From 1st September we will also be using ‘push’ notifications to keep you up to date with what is happening in school.

All parents/carers who are recorded on our records as having parental responsibility for your child will be able to sign up to MCAS from Monday 30th June, via a self-signup process.  We would encourage you to do this as soon as possible, so that you are set up before the end of term.  Due to the timings of the launch, we will not be setting up MCAS for our Year 6 children.

You will need the school postcode (BS23 4XH) and your email address, which must match the email address we have on our records.

If you already have an MCAS account for a child in another school, you do not need to set up another account, Uphill Village Academy and your child will automatically be added to your account when we activate it on 30th June.

Further information, including links to a video and Parent Guide to help with setting up and using MCAS, is provided in the attached Parent Information Sheet.

Once you have set up your MCAS account we would encourage you to check the data we hold about you and your child.  This can be done by clicking on “Data Collection Sheet” in the menu on the left-hand side.  Please check the information is still correct and add any missing information.  All boxes marked with a * must be completed before you can submit the form.

Please ensure you click on the tab at the top of the screen – “View Your Personal Details” – to check and complete all the required details.  You will only be able to view and update your own details.  The second parent contact will need to set up their own MCAS account to check and update their details.

We have also made some changes to our photography consents, which can be found by clicking on “Parental Consents” in the menu.  Please read the information provided and confirm your consents asap.

Once you have completed all the information you can submit the form and we will review the changes before the system is updated.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Our current payment system, ParentPay, will close on 22 July 2025 and, although you will still be able to access ParentPay, you will not be able to see information regarding your child(ren) who attend this school after this date. Although we will be able to transfer both credit and debit balances to the new system, we would encourage all parents to clear their balances before 22 July 2025.

Please note we are only able to transfer funds allocated to a payment item, e.g. dinner money, breakfast club. We are unable to see or transfer any funds holding in your ParentPay Parent Account. 

Year 6 Parents – please ensure all debts are settled by 21 July 2025.  Charges for July’s Breakfast Club & After-School Club bookings have now been added to ParentPay and need to be paid in full by 21 July 2025.  If you have a surplus credit in ParentPay, please contact us as soon as possible to arrange a refund.

Wrap-Around Care Bookings & Payment – from 1st August, bookings and payment for Breakfast Club and After-School Club will move to MCAS.  A separate letter will be issued to parents/carers of children registered for these clubs, providing detailed information and guidance.  Please look out for this letter and ensure you have set up your MCAS account before the end of term, so you are ready to book for September.
