North Somerset School’s Dance Festival – Tuesday 24th March

Dear Parents/Carers,

The Dance Festival is nearly here!!

On the day of the Dance Festival, the children will be attending the Playhouse Theatre for a full, dress rehearsal. We are providing coach travel to the Playhouse from school, leaving at 11:30am for the start of the rehearsal at 12:00pm.

Rehearsals will finish at approximately 2:45pm and children will need to be collected from the foyer of the Playhouse Theatre no later than 3:00pm. If the adult collecting has changed since submitting the permission form, please inform the office team asap.

On the evening, please drop your child off at the back entrance of the Playhouse Theatre at 6:00pm prompt; the doors will be closed at 6:10pm so please do not be late. The show usually ends around 8:45pm.

Costume Arrangements

For dance 1, children will need a white polo top or shirt (with a collar) and black/grey leggings or shorts.

For dance 2, children will need to wear all brown clothes that they are able to dance in. A brown t-shirt and leggings/shorts would be perfect.

Both dances will be performed barefooted.

Hair will need to be tied back into a ponytail if longer than shoulder length.

If you are struggling with any items, please let Miss Arnall or Miss Stenner know as soon as possible to see if we can help. These items should be brought into school in a named bag for Dance Club on Thursday 19th March, we will keep these in school and take them to the Playhouse Theatre on your child’s behalf.

During the evening the children will need a small snack (no chocolate please) and a water bottle (water only please). The children will be within a dressing room in between their dance performances and will therefore need something to keep them occupied such as a book to read, colouring book and pencils, or card game. No electronic devices or mobile phones please.

The Dance Festival is a major event in the school’s calendar and a huge achievement for the children to take part in; it takes a lot of confidence to participate in events such as these, and we are always very proud of those that take part.

We hope you are able to come along and support your child in the audience.

With regards

Miss Arnall & Miss Stenner
