Parents Evening Update – Tuesday 19th & Wednesday 20th October
Dear Parent/Carer,
Further to our Covid-19 update this morning, we have taken the decision to hold both Parents Evenings virtually, via a video call.
Tuesday 19th October
All appointments will be held via a video call using the parents evening booking system (SchoolCloud). There will be no in-person meetings available. Your existing appointment will be automatically switched to a video call and the time will remain the same. You will receive a reminder email today, and again 1 hour before your appointment, which will contain a link to your call. Alternatively, just before the start of your appointment, you can log in to the system at https://uphill.schoolcloud.co.uk and start the video call.
Important Reminders for All Parents:
- Please click on the link at the bottom of this letter for a comprehensive ‘how to’ guide giving you all the information you need to be able to take part in the video call.
- Check the Call Works – it is essential that you check you can use the video system before your appointment. Please make sure you follow the guidance and test your access prior to your parents evening.
- We have no facility to contact you or ‘call you in’ if you cannot get into your video call.
- Please remember, this is a short meeting to see how your child is progressing; each appointment is for 10 minutes and will automatically stop at the end of your time.
- There is now a facility to blur your background during the video call. After clicking ‘Join Appointments’ the ‘Check Audio and Video’ screen will appear, showing the options to turn on/off your camera/microphone and to blur your background.
Exercise Books
Your child’s exercise books will be sent home on Monday to enable you to look at these prior to your parents evening. Please ensure books are returned to school on Tuesday morning.
Parents Evenings are a really important to both us and parents and we hope you will understand that this change will help keep everyone safe.
