Ready to Go – Young Voices 2025

Dear Parents/Carers,

Tomorrow is our trip to Birmingham for the YV 2025 concert and the children are very excited. Here are a few important final reminders:

• We will leave school around 10.15am. The concert starts at 7pm and finishes around 9.00pm-9.15pm. We usually arrive back at school between 11.30 & 11.45pm. Prompt collection is much appreciated.
• Children will need to bring a suitably filling packed tea (no glass bottles, fizzy drinks, nuts or nut products please). Please provide a large drink with this meal.
• Children need a refillable water bottle.
• Children can bring something to occupy them on the coach journey such as colouring books & pencils, a reading book etc. No electronic gadgets or mobile phones. Any items should be small and fit into one small backpack (which will remain on the coach).
• We do not allow sweets or snacks on the coach journey and would ask you not to pack these for your children.
• Many children sleep on the way home, so a small pillow makes this more comfortable if they want to bring one, please don’t bring blankets, large pillows etc.
• If your child is prone to travel sickness we can administer travel sickness tablets on your behalf. These should be handed into the school office on the morning of the trip and must be in a new, sealed original box. A medication form will need to be completed.
• We will only take emergency medication with us: travel sickness, inhalers & antibiotics. We will not take any other type of medicine, including pain relief. We carry paracetamol & ibuprofen for emergencies.
• The children should come to school wearing black trousers or full length leggings (no skirts or jogging bottoms please) and their usual white polo shirt & school logo jumper/cardigan. Dark charcoal school trousers are also fine. Children should wear their normal black school shoes and will need a coat. They shouldn’t bring any other belongings other than their food and drinks.
• We will upload photos during the day for you to see and these will be available via the X (formerly known as Twitter) account; YV2025@UVAYoungVoices. If we cannot identify your handle as a parent we will not accept it, so please notify us by email if you are unsure or have not been accepted. Please request to follow by today (Wednesday) as we don’t always have reception to be able to accept followers once travelling.
• Our X account is private so please do not share the content/photographs on any other social media sites.
• Please remember that collection is from outside school. We will not be organising any parent collections from the coach parking at the venue this year.
• All tickets have been transferred to parent’s AXS accounts. If you haven’t received your tickets, please contact us at [email protected] Your AXS app showing the ticket is the only way to gain entry to the arena, please check to ensure the tickets have transferred to your app. Please use the link below to access further information from the venue regarding access into the arena.
