Rescheduled Sports Day
Dear Parents/Carers,
Following the cancellation of Sports Day, due to the school closure on Thursday 25th June, we have been working hard to reschedule this popular event. The next few weeks are incredibly busy and, as there continues to be the possibility of hot weather, we have made the decision to hold KS1 & KS2 Sports Days on different dates, allowing them both to take place in the morning.
EYFS & Key Stage 1 (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) will hold their Sports Day on Thursday 2nd July from 9:15am – 10:15am. After dropping children at school, parents will be asked to wait in the front playground. The gates will open at 9:10am.
Key Stage 2 (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6) will hold their Sports Day on Thursday 9th July from 9.00am until 10.30am.
On the days children are taking part in Sports Day, they should wear their PE Kit to school. This should be either a white t-shirt or a House colour t shirt, navy or black shorts and trainers/daps. The colour of the House your child is in is on the front of their home school diary.
Please ensure your child brings their full school uniform to school, in a named plastic bag, to change into after the event. If the weather is sunny, please ensure your child has sun cream applied before coming to school and has a sun hat and a water bottle with them.
Unfortunately, these events remain weather dependent and a decision will be made the day before each event as to whether it will go ahead.
Parents are welcome to join us to watch their child’s session and cheer them on.
Photography & Filming – may we remind parents that we do NOT allow filming or photography at Sports Day. We will endeavour to take lots of photographs and these will be available on both our Instagram account (@uphillvillageacademy) and on the website (www.uphillvillageacademy.co.uk)
Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
We look forward to seeing as many parents and carers as possible on these new dates.
With kind regards
Mrs Hodder
Principal
