Updated Year 5/6 PE Uniform
Dear Parents/Carers,
In our letter dated 7th January we requested Year 5/6 children need to wear their PE kit rather than usual school uniform on their specified PE days.
We would like to say thank you to parents for ensuring the vast majority of children have attended in correct uniform. There have been a small number of instances where children have arrived at school this week in the incorrect PE uniform. We are therefore clarifying below the permitted PE uniform which should be of the same standard as normal unform to ensure children are well presented.
PE uniform can ONLY be worn on their specified PE day and consists of:
- White PE t-shirt and royal blue school jumper
- Plain black joggers/leggings/shorts
- Trainers (preferably dark colour/black)
The following items of clothing are not permitted and children will be asked to change if they attend wearing these items:
- Football boots/bright coloured trainers
- Black leggings as a stand-alone item. If leggings are worn, they MUST be worn with a skirt which should be removed during PE
- Joggers with any form of logos, stripes, tapes, branding. They must be plain black.
- Hoodies – although we originally stated a black hoodie could be worn during the PE lesson, this has caused some confusion. Hoodies of any colour/description are now NOT allowed. All children will need their school royal blue jumper.
- Coloured socks – all socks worn must be either black or white and should NOT be on show above shoes/leggings.
PE days are as follows:
Pegasus – Tuesday & Thursday
Orion – Wednesday & Friday
Unicorn – Tuesday & Friday
Thank you for supporting us in ensuring our children attend school well presented in the correct uniform. However, if you have any concerns with this issue, please contact your child’s class teacher or school office on office@uva.clf.uk
Yours sincerely
Year 5/6 Team
