Walk home and to school permissions

Dear Parents/Carers,

Mobile phones are now an essential part of our lives, and we understand the pressures on children to have and use them. However, we ask that they do not become an ordinary part of a young person’s life whilst at primary school.

We understand that when a child will be walking to and/or from school unaccompanied, you may wish them to carry a mobile phone. However, if a mobile phone is brought into school, it must be fully switched off and handed into the office staff. It can be collected at the end of the school day and should not be turned on until your child has left the school premises.

We would kindly ask that if your child does not walk to or from school unaccompanied, that they leave their mobile phone at home.

If your child is walking to or from school, we require permission from a parent in writing. If these forms are not completed, we will query with parents why your child has a mobile phone in school.

Apologies to those parents who have previous completed these forms but unfortunately our permission list does not match with the number of children bringing their mobile phone to school.
