Year 2 Historical Walk Around the Village
Dear Parents/Carers,
The children and staff of Year 2 will be going on a walk around Uphill Village on Thursday 8th February as part of their project “Why were the Victorians significant?”. We are very excited to be joined by a local historian who will be able to help us look for clues as to how the village has changed since the Victorian times.
We will be leaving school to walk around the village at approximately 9:15am and should return approximately 11:30am.
We are asking for parents to volunteer to join us on the walk. If you can support us, please contact your child’s class teacher.
The children will need to be dressed for the weather. They should wear their school polo shirt and logo jumper as usual but can wear warm trousers, such as jogging bottoms and trainers for walking in. Every child must have a warm coat with them.
We will still go on our walk even in the event of wet weather, if it is raining, please send your child to school with a waterproof coat and wellies.
Many thanks for your continuing support and we are looking forward to celebrating our local area with the children.
The Year 2 Team.
