Year 2 to Year 3 Transition Letter

Dear Parents/Carers,

In September, your child will be moving into Year 3 (Key Stage 2). This is the transition from the infant part of the school to the juniors. As your child moves into Year 3 there are some things we need to make you aware of.

PG Rated Film Consent: From time to time, we may watch a film that has a PG rating. These will always be checked for suitability of viewing by the class teacher before they are shown. These could be shown as part of supporting the curriculum or for occasional special treats to watch a film in class.  If you do not wish to give your consent, your child will not be allowed to watch these films and will spend time within another classroom and/or take part in a different activity. Please complete the consent form using the following link by Wednesday 31st July 2024: https://forms.office.com/e/j6stNHFu30

Swimming Lessons: We have previously sent information to parents regarding our National Curriculum swimming lessons. Please ensure you have visited ParentPay and given consent for your child to take part in these lessons.

School Meals:  School meals continue to be booked in the same way as in Year 2. Children can choose to book a meal on the day they wish to; they just need to let the class teacher know each morning. Children can switch between packed lunches and school dinners as they wish. A new menu for September is attached to this letter.

Please remember your child’s entitlement to Universal Infant Free School Meals will expire at the end of Year 2 and meals must be paid for in advance via ParentPay, at a cost of £2.40 per meal. There is no facility for credit.

If you believe you may be entitled to benefit related free school meals, due to your economic circumstances, please use the following link to check your eligibility. It is quick and easy to check and you are informed immediately if you are eligible. If you require further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or [email protected]

We look forward to a successful transition for your children from Year 2 to Year 3 but if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the year group on [email protected]

With regards
