Year 3/4 Class Arrangements for Term 6

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for all your support since our return in March, it has been great to see the children enjoying being back at school.

The ever-increasing challenges of the National Curriculum accompanied with a pandemic mean that we need to do everything we can to support all children in all classes to catch up if they need to.

In previous years, we have been known to split the children in Years 3 and 4 for the morning sessions into year groups for Maths and English and this has proved a successful way to accelerate their learning. Therefore, we have decided to use our government ‘catch-up’ funding to enable us to split Years 3 and Year 4 into four separate classes for the morning only in Term 6.

This will not change your child’s current class and their current class teacher will remain your point of contact.

We believe that this will be the best way to accelerate the children’s learning and know that children will really benefit from being in smaller classes and from being taught year group-specific objectives.

We are delighted that Mr Mark Hancock, an experienced teacher who has been working in the school since January, will be staying with us to facilitate these morning classes.

This means the children will be considered as one year group ‘bubble’ for term 6. They will take their morning break and lunch together and will return to their three usual classes in the afternoon.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to discuss them with us.

Yours Sincerely

Mrs Samantha Hodder

Principal
