Year 3 & 4 Remote Learning Update

Dear Parents & carers

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of our changed practice regarding the location of lesson resources.  In last week’s newsletter we informed you that ALL lesson resources would be made available on our Teams platform only.

The decision was made in response to feedback from our recent parent survey and as a result of technical difficulties with the website due to the volume of content and traffic associated with remote learning.  This has been a problem across the Trust and has necessitated the transfer of work onto Teams instead.  Maintaining content on the website has simply become unreliable and increasingly problematic.

Since the beginning of lockdown Year 3 and 4 have been using Microsoft Teams for their daily check-ins and to submit work via assignments.  This has been working very well.  We would therefore like to build on this already existing practice by uploading all lesson resources to assignments on a daily basis.  The resources will be clearly labelled and will be uploaded by 4.00pm the previous afternoon, giving parents the opportunity to look over them ahead of the lessons.

Resources do not need to be printed but if you wish to do so there is a facility to download them as a pdf. Teams is available using the internet browser or by downloading the Microsoft Teams App.

The teacher’s will be going over the access arrangements during their class briefing sessions this week but in the meantime if you have any access issues then please contact us and we will do our best to support you.

Yours Sincerely

Sam Hodder
