Year 4 Folly Farm Residential 2022 Final Arrangements
Dear Parents/Carers,
Our Folly Farm trip is almost here and the children, as you probably know, are very excited! Please be aware the dates for the trip are this Thursday (16th) & this Friday (17th June). We are aware the front sheet of the presentation stated July but this was an error.
Packing:
- Pack carefully and don’t take too much! Please remember, your child will need to be able to carry their own luggage to the hall as parents are not allowed on the school site. Only bring what is necessary in a small holdall/suitcase, remember we are only away for one night.
- Please label all luggage clearly & please remember your child’s sleeping bag & pillowcase, as this will not be provided at camp;
- The weather is looking very hot, so please pack a sunhat and suntan lotion. Make sure your child knows how to apply suntan lotion properly – we cannot do this for them and they cannot share it with other children. We do NOT provide sun cream.
- Please remember your child’s packed lunch for the Thursday, they MUST have a lunchbox;
Thursday:
- Children should arrive with their luggage at school at normal time and go straight to the hall (if your child is booked into Breakfast Club this arrangement can remain unchanged);
- Children should arrive wearing old clothes and suitable footwear as activities will start on arrival at camp.
- We have already contacted parents who have notified us their child requires medication. These medicines should be handed to Mrs Owen by an adult. No other medicine, including travel sickness tablets, can be handed over at this stage. If you believe your child requires medicine and you have not been contacted, please telephone the school office immediately to discuss this. Children cannot carry or self-administer medication on this trip (except inhalers);
- Please label all luggage clearly.
Return on Friday:
- We plan to be back at school around 3.30pm;
- Children should be collected from the front playground. A prompt collection is appreciated;
- If there is any change to this time we will let you know as soon as possible.
Important reminders:
We have attached a kit list to this letter to help with your child’s packing; if you have any issues or concerns please contact the school office team.
Reminder – NO snacks, sweets or money please.
Please make sure your child has a black bin bag, for their wet/dirty clothes. This is essential to keep mud and water from other items of clothing. Please make sure it has a large named label on it prior to packing.
You can follow the children throughout the trip via our Folly Farm Twitter account. This is a closed group and will only be open to parents of the children attending. Visit Twitter and find us at Yr4FollyFarm@UVATrips and request to follow the account. We will accept parents to view the account over the coming days before we travel. We take loads of photos to keep you informed and you can see just what they get up to!
If you have a Twitter handle that will be difficult for us to identify you from, please telephone the school office, so we know. We cannot accept requests from grandparents, friends, siblings etc.
