Year 6 Leavers Information
Dear Year 6 Parents and Carers,
Hard though it may be to believe, we are fast approaching the last few terms at Uphill Village Academy for our Year 6 children. Both the school and the PTFA have lots of amazing activities planned to make the children’s last term at school enjoyable and memorable.
This letter provides you with information about:

Activities organised for the Year 6 Leavers
TOP SECRET! Generously funded by the PTFA, the school has organised some fun activities for all of Year 6 children on the afternoons of Thursday 18th, Friday 19th & Monday 22nd July, including a small keepsake gift.
YR 6 Leavers Party – Thursday 18th July 2024 at 6.30-7.30pm
Traditionally, the Year 6 Parents and Carers have been responsible for raising funds and organising the Year 6 Leavers Party in conjunction with the school. The PTFA have kindly donated funds towards the party. The Year 6 Leavers Committee and volunteers will be raising funds by selling ice lollies in the school playground during the last terms, weather permitting. Please support the initiative and have your 50p’s ready!
In the final term we can also raise funds by having a stall at the Summer Fete. We will need volunteers to make this possible. For every Year 6 student attending the party, there is also a suggested minimum donation of £3 per child. It is important to note, that every child is welcome to the Leavers Party, no matter the ability to donate, however, if you can, it would be incredible if you could donate more. Please ensure your contribution is handed into the school office in a sealed envelope by Friday 14th June 2024.
A small working committee has been set up, interested volunteers are invited to join a WhatsApp group chat called the ‘YR6 Leavers Party’. Please contact a member of the Leavers Committee.

Year 6 2024 Leavers Hoodies
Due to popular demand, Mrs Hodder is once again supportive of exploring the concept of Year 6 Hoodies as long as every child receives one, irrespective of ability to pay. The school’s value of ‘everybody’ means that every child should be included.
A sub-committee is aiming to raise enough funds to cover all costs, approximately £18 per hoodie, £800 in total and they need your help to achieve this! Again if you’d like to support then please contact a member of the Leavers Committee. Donating is optional and anonymous.
Ways to fundraise for hoodies – deadline Friday 19th April 2024.
- Donate: Donate what you can afford towards the £18 cost price
- Pay Forward: Donate the price of more than one hoody to subsidise the cost for another child
- Find a sponsor: The total cost of purchasing the hoodies is close to £800, we can include business cards with the hoodies and advertise the sponsorship on the school’s social media. Please contact one of the sub committee if you have a sponsor willing to make a contribution.

Please note it does not guarantee your YR6 child will get a hoody as this is dependent on the parents raising the full £800 to pay for hoodies for all children. If the full amount is not raised this year, money donated towards hoodies will be spent on activities for the Leavers party.
